One example is the Micropilot FMR6x free space radar instrument with 80 GHz technology, which offers several advantages. By focusing the radar signal at a 3-degree angle, the mountings and obstacles have virtually no influence on the measurement value. The opportunity to use broadband signals with a measurement range of >0.5m for liquids and up to 125m for bulk solids makes it possible to optimally select the right sensor technology.
The guided wave and free space radar instruments offer further value add through their own pulse – or Heartbeat Technology as it is referred to. This technology helps to ensure cost-effective and safe operation of the system during the entire life cycle. Every measurement point can be verified and documented without removing the instrument and without interrupting the process.
Heartbeat Technology monitors field devices and displays the process data, providing trend detection as a basis for predictive maintenance. This allows the early detection of deposit build-up, for instance, so that maintenance can be planned accordingly. Furthermore, users can save time and money through the intuitive user menu when carrying out verification or SIL-compliant repeat tests.
The entire range of guided wave and free space radar instruments supplies precise and reliable measurements under all relevant process and environmental conditions.
