Vialit Asphalt benefits from flowmeter Promass I 500 for road maintenance products
Vialit Asphalt GmbH & Co KG manufactures various products for road maintenance in its main plant in Braunau am Inn. Mixing semifinished products requires exact measurement of flow rate and viscosity. Thanks to Proline Promass I 500 with Coriolis technology from Endress+Hauser, employees now need to take significantly fewer time-consuming manual samples for quality control of the respective batch.

The customer requirement
Bituminous semifinished products are pumped into a circuit and then mixed with various fillers. To achieve consistently high product quality, the employees monitor viscosity and flow rate when pumping the semifinished product into the circuit. Previously, control samples of the respective batch were manually taken by the employees at sometimes high temperatures and analyzed in the lab. Another challenge: the fluid is non-Newtonian and therefore the viscosity is not constant.
Our solution
Proline Promass I 500 monitors product quality in real time. The Coriolis flowmeter with a straight, single-tube design offers not only mass flow, density and temperature measurement as well as in-line viscosity measurement. The remote transmitter additionally convinces with maximum installation flexibility as well as operating safety and reliability under demanding ambient conditions.
