Endress+Hauser gives a double gift of joy
The children of the employees in Maulburg, Germany have contact with Endress+Hauser from an early age. The Competence Center for Pressure and Measurement Engineering gives the offspring high-quality balance bikes made of wood – each one personalized with a name plate.
Lebenshilfe Lörrach, a facility for people with disabilities, manufactures the balance bikes exclusively for Endress+Hauser. The arrangement is a hit with parents and the staff members’ children alike, while simultaneously supporting the organization’s aim of integration. The project thereby brings double the excitement, while complementing Endress+Hauser’s efforts in employing people with disabilities.
Integration into work life
In various locations, Endress+Hauser has outsourced individual work tasks to facilities such as Lebenshilfe Lörrach. The plant in Maulburg assigns tasks to large sheltered workshops in the region: the St. Josefshaus in Rheinfelden and the Caritas workshop in Waldshut complete assembly tasks such as the fixing of parts to casings or lids. Both workshops employ approximately 90 people through Endress+Hauser’s commission.
In Reinach, Switzerland, the Baselland integration institute is located on the compound of the Endress+Hauser Competence Center for Flow Measurement Engineering. There are several designated production areas for the personnel. Simple modules are assembled, screwed, riveted, glued, clamped and put together on 1,600 square metres of floor space by 67 members of staff.
Special guests
Teenagers with learning disabilities from a nearby school come to eat in the large staff restaurant at the Maulburg location every Wednesday. This is just an example of the integration that takes place across many business areas. Sometimes it is the small gestures that result in the most happiness!
